Save time. Complete and print your passport application form before coming to the Embassy. This office does not process U.S. passports by mail. Any instructions on the passport forms that reference the mailing of passports or applications are directed towards applicants that are in the United States. All applicants for U.S. passports in Bandar Seri Begawan must apply in person.
Appointments Are Required for All Services
There is no walk-in service for U.S. citizens who require a routine service related to passport, citizenship, or birth registration. To ensure quality service and brief wait times, please schedule a separate appointment for each person requiring a service. Routine appointments are available on Wednesdays at 10 am only, except on Embassy’s official holidays. Click here to book an appointment.
Adult Renewals
Adults who have previously held a full-validity passport may complete the application form using Passport Application System or by downloading the DS-82 (PDF 107KB). On the day of your appointment, come to the Embassy with:
- A signed and completed DS-82
- Your current passport and one photocopy of the biographic page
- One (1) passport photo that meet the requirements
- Payment in cash or by credit card. We accept currency from Brunei, Singapore, or the United States. In response to a local bank policy, we cannot accept USD old than the year 2000, or bills that are ripped or damaged
- We will return your current passport to you at the end of the appointment
Child/Minor Renewals
For children and minors under the age of 16, both parents should be present at the Embassy during the application appointment. Complete the application form using Passport Application System or by downloading the DS-11 (PDF 140KB). On the day of your appointment, come to the Embassy with:
- A completed but unsigned DS-11
- Passports (for the child and both parents) along with a copy of each biographic page for each passport
- One (1) passport photo that meet the requirements
- The original and a copy of the child’s Consular Report of Birth Abroad if the child was born overseas, or Birth Certificate if the child was born in the United States
- Payment in cash or by credit card. We accept currency from Brunei, Singapore, or the United States. In response to a local bank policy, we cannot accept USD old than the year 2000, or bills that are ripped or damaged
- Your original documents, including your child’s current passport will be returned to you at the end of the appointment.
- If one parent cannot be present at the appointment, the non-present parent should complete the DS-3053 (PDF 83KB). The original signed and notarized DS-3053, along with an attached copy of the non-present parent’s identification presented to the notary must be presented during the appointment.
First Adult Passports
For individuals 16 years or older applying for their first full validity passport. Minors under the age of 18 should be accompanied by at least one parent. Complete the application form using Passport Application System or by downloading the DS-11 (PDF 140KB). On the day of your appointment, come to the Embassy with:
- A completed but unsigned DS-11
- Your current passport and one photocopy of the biographic page
- One (1) passport photo that meet the requirements
