October 28, 2016 – The U.S. Embassy in Bandar Seri Begawan held its third annual public diplomacy event, “Let’s Go America!” on October 28-30 at the Times Square Shopping Center in Jalan Berakas.
The three-day event showcased higher education opportunities, travel information, cultural exhibitions, and information on doing business in the United States.

Let’s Go America! featured consultations and registrations for U.S. Embassy programs and services such as EducationUSA for information on studying in the United States; the Fulbright Scholar and Student Programs; the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI); eLibraryUSA for access to online publications, journals, eBooks and multi-media content; and the U.S. visa application process.
The showcase also included U.S. food, travel, and hotel franchises, as well as a musical performance, cooking demonstrations, and a creative presentation.
U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer Catherine Muller stated “The Let’s Go America! showcase is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to learn more about the United States or is eager to engage more with the U.S. Embassy here in Brunei. Whether you are looking towards furthering your education, want to learn more about U.S.-Brunei business prospects, are interested in being part of embassy-sponsored programs, or even if you have some questions about travelling to the United States, we welcome your visit to the showcase!”
U.S. Embassy staff was present to answer questions the public had regarding higher education, travel, visa applications, business opportunities, and applying for programs offered by the U.S. government. Members of the Brunei-U.S. Association (BUSA) and Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) was also available to share firsthand experience on travelling, studying, and living in the United States.
